Today is July 18. School resumes on August 12. Today I realized I am screwed.
I have been assigned to read six books for AP Literature & Composition along with completing two essays. Besides that class, I also have three pages of problems to complete for AP Chemistry and memorize a whole bunch of chemistry related items. All of this stuff must be learned and completed by August 12.
My current standings don't look too hot. I've read the book I needed to read for the essays along with have the essays written. I also read two other books, allowing me to say I've completed reading three of the six books. Currently, I am in the very beginning of The Grapes of Wrath, which is about a 460 page read. The summer is over half way complete and I am just now passing the halfway mark for my English assignment, not even to mention chemistry.
My chemistry homework is, well, a work in progress. I've opened the packet up to look through it, but then I just sat it down for another day's project. I would really rather finish all my reading and then focus my time on chemistry, but that might not work out. As I said yesterday, marching band camp begins Monday [July 20] and that pretty much knocks out an entire week of working on summer homework.
I hope I can prove myself wrong and be able to say I got it all done, but at this point, it seems like a hopeless case.

Marching Band Camp
I really can't believe marching band has come around the corner. I mean, I was really looking forward to it, but I never thought it would catch up with me! This coming week, camp starts from 8:00 AM-9:00 PM Monday through Friday. I'm pretty sure it's going to be awesome, because each year band camp gets better for me.
Monday night will be awesome, considering we have our annual pool party. We leave for our normal dinner time and have hamburgers and hot dogs at the pool and then we get to swim the evening away. It's like you get a preview of marching band camp, and then you get to chill for the evening. But, you better get serious for the rest of the week.
On Thursday night, we have our squad competitions which means that each instrument section/groups perform a skit against each other to see who wins. The winner gets to perform their skit at the marching band concert at the end of the year. Quite frankly, nobody wants to win because nobody wants to perform their skit again. To be straight forward, you want your skit to be good, but not too good.
Friday is the last day of band camp, but it ends at about 5:30 PM. It's always a happy, yet sad day. I'm happy for time off to rest and relax, but sad because I won't be with my friends along with the thought of -gasp- school coming right around the corner.
To sum it all up, I'm pumped and ready for an awesome band camp! :]
